Niagara SPCA sweetens adoption process

Nov 10, 2019 | Lifestyles

What can be sweeter than adopting a pet? Well, nothing really unless you add some cookies in the mix! Niagara SPCA has teamed up with Cookie Doodle Dough, a local cookie company that offers “the best cookies you will ever taste!” to gift pet adopters with a sweet treat for giving their shelter animals a forever home.

“I have been privileged to have had nearly a dozen cats and nearly a dozen dogs in my life. These animals, by virtue of their friendship with and acceptance of me, showed me that compassion is not an attribute reserved solely by humans,” said Robert DeFazio, Cookie Doodle Dough owner and resident of Lewiston. “The Niagara SPCA does the heavy lifting in caring for unwanted, orphaned or forgotten animals, and finding them homes where they will be loved and respected. What I am doing is small, but what they are doing is worthy of the praise and full support of all those who truly care about these wonderful creatures.”

“When Robert from Cookie Doodle Dough approached us with the idea of giving a gift to our adopters, we didn’t hesitate to jump on board. These adopters are giving our shelter animals a gift of love and a forever home and this is our way of saying thank you to them with a delicious treat,” said Niagara SPCA Executive Director Tim Brennan.

Each gift box also contains a treat for the pet to enjoy as well. For more information on Cookie Doodle Dough, call 795-2886, email co***************@gm***.com or visit CookieDoodleDough.com.
