The Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is partnering with The Prevention Council of Erie County for a discussion on brain health, mental health and Alzheimer’s risk reduction from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, at the Isaias Gonzalez-Soto Library, located at 280 Porter Ave., Buffalo.
Staff and volunteers from the WNY Chapter will explore the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia on Buffalo’s West Side community and share the free, supportive resources available to help families who are dealing with the disease.
The Prevention Council will teach attendees mindfulness techniques that can be used to reduce stress and support mental and physical health.
Registration is highly encouraged and can be done online at bit.ly/AlzMindfulness419 or by calling 800-272-3900. This program is funded in part through a grant from the New York State Department of Health.
