Annual Bishop Timon Alumni Mass will go virtual

Jan 16, 2021 | Events

The Alumni Mass has been a tradition at Bishop Timon St. Jude High School for over 30 years. During Mass, Timon alumni who have passed during the past year are remembered. A list of departed alumni can be found at http://www.bishoptimon.com/Alumni/Alumni-Memorial-Mass/Alumni-Remembered.

Fr. Greg Dobson will be officiating the Alumni Mass at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22. A native of South Buffalo and graduate of St. Theresa grammar school, Fr. Greg recently retired as pastor of St. Mary of the Angels in Olean before returning to Bishop Timon St. Jude High School and St. Thomas Aquinas in South Buffalo.

Fr. Greg explains: “We die three times. The first is when you take your last breath, the second time you die is when you are buried, and the last time you die is the last time your name crosses someone’s lips. This is the reason we say the names of our alumni.”

This year’s event is very different as we cannot all be together. However, there is light in the darkness as the virtual event will allow people who do not live locally to attend the Mass. A slideshow of each alum with their photo, name and grade is being compiled by Sean Glinski `22 and Charlie Rozeski `21, members of our Bishop Timon Radio Club.
