The Town of West Seneca and the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will once again oversee the popular West Seneca Farmers’ Market, sponsored by the Western New York Federal Credit Union (wnyfcu.com), for the 2022 season. The 16-week market, located on the hill at the corner of Union Road and Main Street, adjacent to Town Hall, will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday evenings from May 26 through Sept. 15, weather permitting. There will be no market on June 23 due to West Seneca Community Days.
“To better meet the needs of our customers, we’re going to run the market a little later in the season and add a few new vendors to the mix,” said Joe Kirchmyer, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “Customers should find a nice selection of offerings from farmers, food producers, artisans and food trucks, as well as picnic tables, nonprofit participants and entertainment each week. Everything is dependent, of course, on weather and crowds, but it looks like it will be an exciting season.”
A complete list of vendors, participating nonprofit organizations and entertainers will be posted on the West Seneca Farmers’ Market Facebook page and the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce website in the near future.
Free yoga classes led by Valerie Halady, fitness instructor for the West Seneca Senior Center, will return to the market every Thursday at 6 p.m. Classes are for all ages and will take place under the shade of the trees and run for 45 to 60 minutes. Participants should bring their own yoga mat, a bottle of water and any other props they may need for support.
The West Seneca Lions Club will once again offer free Thursday night concerts in the park this summer beginning at 7 p.m. A complete schedule of Lions concerts will be released shortly.
