All roads will once again lead to the 83rd annual Annunciation Church Picnic to take place on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Church of the Annunciation, 7580 Clinton St. in Elma, just five miles east of Transit Road. But this year’s event will have an entirely new look and feel due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Instead of the usual tents filled with music, games of chance for adults and activities for kids, this year’s version is being called a “Pickup Picnic.” Starting at 11 a.m. on Aug. 15, guests can drive up and purchase a delicious Wendel’s BBQ Chicken Dinner or the parish’s famous clam chowder! Annunciation’s Ladies Sodality will also raffle off a beautiful handcrafted Amish quilt during the event.
Pre-sale tickets for the chicken dinner and chowder are recommended. To place an order, please visit www.annunciation.cc and click on the “Online Giving” link at the bottom of the page, where pre-sale tickets will be available for purchase. Please print your tickets for presentation at the Pickup Picnic. Chicken dinners are priced at $12, and chowder at $8 per quart. Pre-pay orders must be picked up by 1 p.m. on Aug. 15.
Volunteers and signage will help with the traffic flow on the day of the event. For additional information, please call the parish office at 683-5254.
