Iroquois High School graduate Abby Mertzlufft was awarded a $500 scholarship at the July 9 meeting of the Arts & Craftsmen Guild on the historic Roycroft Campus. Mertzlufft’s winning submittal featured work in both graphite and colored pencil. She will attend Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester this fall where she intends to pursue a degree in art education.
“Abby is already a talented young artist and the Guild is proud to support her further development and art education with this scholarship,” said Guild Chairperson Yvonne Stoklosa. “She also receives a membership in the Guild which gives her a chance to attend our meetings and network and learn from our accomplished artist-members, several of whom are art instructors as well.”
Mertzlufft’s work will be featured in a YouTube video that can be found on the Arts & Craftsmen Guild’s Facebook page. She also has an Instagram account (@abby_mertz_art) where you can view additional work.
