Author Ray Nowak to visit Dog Ears Bookstore

Nov 10, 2023 | Events

Author Ray Nowak, a 1975 graduate of Bishop Timon High School, returns to South Buffalo for a book-signing event from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 at Dog Ears Bookstore & Café, 688 Abbott Road.

Nowak checked out of the mainstream in 1977, quitting college and leaving Buffalo on a bus bound for California. A wandering life ensued and continues. He joined the Merchant Marine in 1980 and traveled around the world working aboard cargo ships, and also lived off the grid in Eagle Harbor, Washington for 20 years, anchored offshore on a houseboat and embracing a lifestyle of simplicity.

Notes On The Road Less Traveled: The Road Never Ends and the Soul Never Dies – Chronicles Of A Wandering Man, details Nowak’s journey from the street to the sea through the eyes of a wandering man. This collection of stories and musings will take you on a ride that spans over 40 years of a life on the road.
