Dog Ears Bookstore & Café, 688 Abbott Road, Buffalo, will host author Sinéad Tyrone for a book-signing event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11. Tyrone will be signing copies of her books, “Walking Through The Mist” and “Crossing The Lough Between.”
In “Walking Through The Mist,” 21-year-old Aidan O’Connell’s world revolves around music and his father, sister and grandmother, the core family that supports him through the ups and downs of life. While he and his Macready’s Bridge bandmates are on their first American tour, tragedy strikes. Aidan returns to his Derry, Ireland home to find his world torn apart. Macready’s Bridge’s other members, Patrick Leahy, Michael Sullivan and Niall Donoghue, and their manager Mack Macready, step in to help where they can, while at the same time coping with their own life challenges. As everything in Aidan’s world collapses, he finds he must make some very difficult decisions, including letting go of people and things he once held close in order to rebuild his life. Set against a rich Ireland background with endearing, memorable characters, “Walking Through The Mist” is a story of relationships, faith and the human spirit’s struggle to survive when all is lost.
In “Crossing The Lough Between,” when Niall Donoghue’s father falls ill, a revelation threatens the security of the family farm Niall grew up on and is infinitely dedicated to. Will Aidan O’Connell’s discovery through the promptings of a mysterious stranger hold the key to resolving Niall’s dilemma, or will the discovery cause a break in their friendship that cannot be repaired? Meanwhile, Patrick Leahy’s family faces a new mixed blessing, and Michael Sullivan’s marriage to Susannah is on hold. In this sequel to “Walking Through The Mist,” each of the Macready’s Bridge bandmates face challenges to their future plans and dreams.
Both books were published by No Frills Buffalo publishing company.
