As part of Black History Month, the Buffalo Broadcasters Association is presenting Black Excellence in Broadcasting on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. The roundtable discussion will look at the challenges facing people of color in the media.
WKBW-TV’s Taylor Epps will moderate a panel that includes: WUFO-AM owner Sheila Brown, former WIVB-TV Consumer Reporter Al Vaughters, co-host of WKBW’s AM Buffalo Mercedes Wilson and co-founder of WNY Media Professionals Michael Quinniey.
The evening’s topics will include the triumphs and tribulations of Black voices in broadcasting, as well as the unique contributions of each panelist to Western New York. The event will be held at the Burchfield Penney Art Center and is sponsored by the Buffalo State University Communications Department.
