‘Bites Around Buffalo’ coloring book highlights WNY’s famous cuisine

Oct 31, 2016 | Lifestyles

Mitchell Grosofsky, who earlier this year released the popular “Welcome to Buffalo” adult coloring book featuring his artistic renditions of Buffalo’s famous architectural and historical landmarks, is at it again! Grosofsky recently released “Bites Around Buffalo,” an adult coloring book highlighting Buffalo’s classic cuisine and famous food establishments.

Additionally, Grosofsky will take part in a book-signing event from noon to 2 p.m. on Nov. 26, Small Business Saturday, at The Buffalo History Museum, One Museum Court, Buffalo. Designed for shoppers looking for personalized gifts this holiday season, the event will feature a meet-and-greet with more than 65 local authors! Museum admission is free during event hours.

Born and raised in Buffalo, Grosofsky is a self-taught artist who self-published both books. In addition to producing artwork, he teaches mathematics locally and works in Europe as a hiking guide during the summer months.

welcome-front-cover“The original book idea came about when I was looking for a Buffalo coloring book for my sister’s fiance and couldn’t find one with the main architectural buildings from downtown, so I decided to create one myself. It was released in April 2016. During the creation of that book, I had the idea to start book two and began seeking permission and cooperation from some of the top local restaurants. My intent was to give folks an artistic representation of the city we all have all come to love … with a little more customization. The books are already a hit with Buffalonians, both local and expats alike, as the sketches reignite memories and positive feelings of our city.”

Food establishments featured in “Bites Around Buffalo” include Amy’s Place, Anchor Bar, Anderson’s Frozen Custard, Bar Bill Tavern, Betty’s, Bocce Club Pizza, Chef’s Restaurant, Danny’s Restaurant, Duff’s Famous Wings, Grover’s Bar and Grill, Jim’s Steakout, Lloyd’s Taco Truck, Paula’s Donuts, Salvatore’s Italian Gardens Restaurant and Ted’s Hot Dogs. “Welcome to Buffalo” features renderings of 32 significant landmarks.

Copies of “Bites Around Buffalo” and “Welcome to Buffalo” can be found at Vidler’s 5 & 10 in East Aurora, BFLO Gallery and Gift Shop in Williamsville, Wegmans stores throughout the area, Thin Ice in Elmwood Village, The Buffalo History Museum, Talking Leaves Books in Buffalo and Buffalo Gal Organics in Clarence. The books are also available on Amazon.com, ebay and Etsy.
