A Father’s Day Chicken BBQ, a golf outing at Holland Hills Country Club and the Bob McDonnell Memorial Car Cruise are three events currently being planned by the Boston Lions Club.
The Chicken BBQ will take place from noon to 4 p.m. (or until sold out) Sunday, June 17, at the Boston Lions Club shelter behind Boston Town Hall. Dinner are just $10 each and include BBQ chicken, potato salad, baked beans, roll and a cookie. Take-out only. The golf outing, scheduled for Saturday, July 7, begins with a shotgun start at noon. The cost is $80 per golfer and includes 18 holes, cart, lunch at the turn, one-hour open bar, chicken/rib dinner, prizes and a basket auction. For tickets, please call Reed Braman at 364-9386 or Vito Czyz at 208-0068. Hole sponsors and donations for the auction are welcome. A dinner only ticket is also available for $40.
On Tuesday, July 10, the Bob McDonnell Memorial Car Cruise will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. in Boston Town Park, 8500 Boston State Road. Hot dogs, hamburgers, soft drinks and water will be available during the event, which will also feature a basket raffle, 50/50 drawing, live entertainment and more. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hospice Foundation of Buffalo.
The Boston Lions Club supports Boston residents through a loan closet (medical equipment, walkers, canes, wheelchairs, hospital beds, etc.), annual student scholarships and helping those in need of assistance in the community.
