A wide variety is family events — including several holiday themed activities — are on the upcoming calendar at Bread of Life Outreach (BOLO) Center, located at 8745 Supervisor Ave. in Colden.
BOLO will host an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Prayer Service at 7 p.m.Tuesday, Nov. 26. The public is invited to join the festivities for fellowship and the giving of thanks.
The organization will be collecting new thermal gloves, mittens, hats and warm socks for its clients, and donations of such products are needed. Items can be dropped off at BOLO and also at the Colden Market & Café or Colden Town Hall.
The popular Christmas Tea and Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7. Tickets for this favored event will go on sale at BOLO from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12, at a cost of $27.50 each and a maximum of 10 tickets per order. Mail orders will be accepted if postmarked by Oct. 5. Please enclose full payment, your name, mailing address and phone number. Tickets will be returned by mail. Mail to BOLO, P.O. Get into the holiday spirit with a How the Grinch Stole Christmas Pajama Party for kids 12 and under. Come and enjoy a night of holiday fantasy with your children on Friday, Dec. 13 at 6:45 p.m. The How the Grinch Stole Christmas movie and book will be featured in the BOLO community room. Kids and parents can enjoy both presentations while sipping hot chocolate and munching on popcorn!
Any child that visits BOLO can also write a letter to Santa, place it in a special mailbox, and Santa will reply! Stationary is available and no postage is necessary. Just be sure to include your name and address so Santa can find you!
Through the generosity of community organizations and churches, BOLO is able to provide Christmas gifts for all BOLO Food Pantry members and their children. If you’d like to help, please pick a gift wish from a Giving Tree at Nativity of Our Lord Church in Orchard Park, St. George Church in West Falls, Orchard Park Community Church, St. Joseph’s Church in Holland or at Bread of Life Outreach in Colden. Giving Tree collection usually begins in mid-November.
