Sep 17, 2019 | Events

The Bread of Life Outreach (BOLO) Center, located at 8745 Supervisor Ave. in Colden, has announced several fall family events set to take place in October.

A children’s Halloween party will be offered from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at BOLO. The event is open to all children, up to age 12, accompanied by a parent of adult guardian. Later in the month, BOLO staff and volunteers will greet trick or treaters with candy and other treats from 6 to 8 p.m. Halloween night.

A Chicken BBQ fundraiser featuring Krolick’s chicken will be held at BOLO from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until sold out, on Sunday, Oct. 20. The delicious chicken dinners will cost just $10, eat in or take out. Tickets are available in advance at BOLO and at the Colden Market & Cafe. Proceeds from the event will support the BOLO Food Pantry.

Additionally, BOLO will be collecting new children’s thermal mittens and gloves, as well as winter hats, for their Winter Readiness Coat program. Items can be dropped off at BOLO or the Colden Market & Cafe beginning Oct. 1.

In addition to operating a Food Pantry for income eligible residents, BOLO also operates the Colden Community Farmers’ Market and Gabriel’s Closet Thrift Shop, and will open The Cherry Picker, a nonprofit retail store offering a collection of new, old, antique, rustic, vintage and modern home furnishings and decor.

BOLO will also be offering flu shots from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. All vaccinations will be administered by a Registered Nurse. Vaccinations are available for individuals ages 4 and older. The quadrivalent vaccine will also be available. For more information, please call 655-8776 or email in**@in********.com.
