The SPCA Serving Erie County is celebrating a major win — thanks to a pinpoint football throw by Brandon Beane, general manager of the Buffalo Bills.
During a live appearance on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this year, McAfee challenged Beane to throw a football approximately 10 yards into a small target. With $100,000 in charitable donations on the line — and only three attempts — Beane successfully completed the challenge on his second throw.
As a result, $50,000 was donated last week to SPCA Serving Erie County animals in honor of Beane and Bills Muttfia, a charitable initiative founded by Brandon and his wife, Hayley Beane, seven seasons ago. Through Bills Muttfia, the Beanes make a $100 donation to SPCA animals in need of extreme care for every Buffalo Bills home game touchdown.
Beane emphasized the importance of the SPCA’s mission.
“My wife, Hayley, keeps me updated on all of the awesome work the SPCA Serving Erie County does to help animals each and every day. It’s a very unique organization in that they help domestic animals and even wildlife and farm animals … we’ve just always had a heart for rescue animals.”
