Buffalo History Museum announces annual Giants of Buffalo events

Mar 2, 2016 | Arts & Culture

The Buffalo History Museum recently announced details of its 4th annual Giants of Buffalo program dedicated to individuals who have made extraordinary contributions in their life’s vocation. Local hospitality sage Russell J. Salvatore and award-winning television and film writer/producer Diane English will be feted on M&T Third Fridays this spring.

On Friday, April 15, Giants of Buffalo: Hospitality is the first of the two planned discussions. Salvatore will be honored for civic leadership through hospitality and philanthropy.

And on Friday, May 20, Giants of Buffalo: Television & Film is set to feature multiple award-winning (EMMY, Peabody, Golden Globe, Writers Guild) writer and producer Diane English.

The program is themed around the honoree and engages the audience in an informal talk show. Topics include personal stories as experienced by career choices, industry practices, inevitable changes and the impact on our region. Pop-up exhibits feature related artifacts from the museum collection or honoree memorabilia. A 5:30 p.m. reception includes a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and music in the State Court. The program begins at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

Advance tickets go on sale at the museum and online at www.buffalohistory.org on March 16 for Hospitality: Russell J. Salvatore, and on April 15 for Television & Film: Diane English. Please call 873-9644, ext. 320 or email mm*******@bu************.org for more information. Tickets are $20, or $10 for museum members.
