Now is the time to prepare for the annual Dyngus Day Parade! The 2016 parade is the 10th anniversary of this unique, iconic event, which will be held on Monday, March 28. When the idea to expand the Dyngus Day celebration was conceived, a small but dedicated delegation participated in that first parade. Who would have imagined that today the Dyngus Day Parade would have hundreds of participants and attract viewers from around the country?
Dyngus Day, the traditional Polish celebration marking the end of the Lenten season and the onset of spring, is inviting people of all nationalities to join in the fun. Parade entrants can be anything from an individual to a family, church or community organization, work group or social club. This is a great way to display your Polish heritage, but everyone is encouraged to participate! Parade applications can be found at www.dyngusdaybuffalo.com and should be sent in as soon as possible. Make plans now to be a part of this historic event!
In addition to parade participants, volunteers are always welcome to help on Dyngus Day with the lineup of participants.
