Buffalo Solar has bold response to coronavirus worries in their community

Apr 22, 2020 | In the News

With so many people concerned about staying healthy and facing new questions about their finances, Buffalo Solar has stepped up with two innovative ways to support their WNY neighbors who may be considering solar. Because with all that has changed, where and how we get our energy is still an important question.

The first step was introducing a special offer that will enable new customers to enjoy all the benefits of going solar without having it affect their spending in the short term. “We are giving each new customer a check to cover their first six months of their solar loan payments. Combined with the two-month grace period on a new loan with our finance partner, that means no payments for eight months,” said Tyler Uebelhoer, co-owner of Buffalo Solar. “Being Buffalo strong means realizing we’re all in this together. We’re doing everything we can to help support our employees, their families, our customers and our entire community right now.”

The second step was reinventing the site assessment and consultation process to allow for safe social distancing. “We know energy costs are not the only priority for our neighbors right now; people are rightfully concerned about their health and safety, and we can help,” said Alicia Uebelhoer, co-owner of Buffalo Solar. “We created online video presentations and our expert team can walk customers through a site assessment remotely. We can now provide an accurate, customized quote for a system designed specifically to a customer’s electricity needs without having to meet in person.”

Buffalo Solar believes every customer becomes family, and family takes care of each other.

Tyler and Alicia Uebelhoer turned their passion for solar energy into a business to serve their local community in Buffalo. They have grown into a 20+ person business with hundreds of customers throughout Western New York. Every person with whom they do business is a neighbor, so they are committed to taking care of them. By making it possible for people to safely choose solar without physical contact, and freeing new customers from costs for eight months are two ways Buffalo Solar is providing needed peace of mind right now.
