Chamber of Commerce to kick off second annual Community Food Drive with large donation to food pantry

Dec 6, 2021 | In the News

In an effort to assist and replenish food pantries in West Seneca and neighboring communities, the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will host a food drive during the month of January.

“We held our first food drive last January and it was so successful that we helped replenish seven local food pantries,” said Joe Kirchmyer, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “And to kick off our second annual food drive, an anonymous West Seneca Chamber of Commerce member is donating $1,000 to the West Seneca Community Food Pantry at St. David’s Episcopal Church!”

To encourage donations, every donor will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win West Seneca-themed products courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce.

Nonperishable food items and personal care products can be dropped off at the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce office in the West Seneca Community Center & Library, 1300 Union Road, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the month of January. Pick-ups for larger donations can be arranged by contacting the Chamber of Commerce at 674-4900. Cash donations will also be accepted. Please be mindful of expiration dates on food donations as expired products will not be accepted.

Secondary drop-off locations during January will include the following West Seneca businesses:

• Armstrong’s Barber Shop, 2852 Seneca St.

• GEICO Local Office West Seneca, 1102 Union Road

• Rusty Nickel Brewing Company, 4350 Seneca St.

• WNY Federal Credit Union, 1937 Union Road

The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce is an independent business organization dedicated to serving the local community. For more information, please call 674-4900, visit westseneca.org or follow the Chamber on Facebook for frequent updates.
