Steven and Jeanette Harp purchased Moonshadow on Keuka Lake in July of 2018, relocating from San Diego with their two pups, Maya and Chloe. They are often asked “Why here? You know it snows, right?” Well, one look at the view and you’ll understand why.
“We absolutely love it here,” said Steven. “It is incredibly beautiful, everyone is so friendly, the wine is fantastic and there is so much to do! What more could we ask for?”
Back in San Diego, Steven had a very successful catering company and restaurant, both of which he sold after 10 years. Jeanette has a great job in the fashion industry as a stylist and still flies around for bookings in the B&B’s off-season. They don’t have kids and decided it was time for a change of scenery. They had been looking for a B&B for many years all over the world and knew the right one would come along.
“We like to say we are a unique bed & breakfast, and not just because we lack all the antiques and doilies you normally find,” said Jeanette. “We bring to the B&B our laid-back California style, comforting cuisine and friendly attitudes. We love what we do and pinch ourselves daily marveling at how fortunate we are.
