Dog Ears Bookstore, located at 688 Abbott Road, recently finished their annual summer reading and writing camps. This marked the fifth year of the camps and once again every week was sold out!
“Dog Ears would like to thank South District Councilman Chris Scanlon and Erie County Youth Services for funding these camps,” said Dog Ears Director Tom McDonnell. “We take great pride in the success of our camps and look forward to continuing to support the reading and writing process throughout the school year. The camps are designed to bring fun to books and writing while focusing on the Common Core requirements of the participants.
Dog Ears would also like to thank their dedicated community partners: Kathy Cunningham of KupKates, Chuck Goodspeed and John Glavey of the Brick Oven Bistro, Buffalo Fire Department Engine 4, Buffalo Police Department A District, Chet and Marina Fery of Bread Time Stories, Malachi Fisher of the Pediatric Trauma Program at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, Anna Hartog and Maggie Mulvaney of Park Edge Sweet Shoppe, local actor and playwright Michael Breen, local musician and future star Grace Lynn Stumberg, our friend and chaperone “UPB,” and Mount Mercy Academy.
