Rick Fałkowski, author of Historic Places of Buffalo & WNY, will visit Dog Ears Bookstore & Café for a book-signing event fro 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1. The nonprofit community bookstore is located at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo.
Falkowski’s book highlights 250 historic locations, buildings, homes and places in WNY, providing a full page of information and photo for each property. Each profile offers background about the location so readers can appreciate the historic value and understand its importance in local history.
Historic Places of Buffalo & WNY is the fifth book written by Falkowski, who has been active in all aspects of area entertainment for the past 60 years and is the founder of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame and Buffalo Music Awards, former publisher of Buffalo Backstage Magazine and coordinator of Tonawanda’s Gateway Harbor Concerts. A University at Buffalo graduate, he is also a United States Air Force veteran, Time Warner retiree, and is active in promoting area history and charitable organizations.
