Mary Ann Siuta Voorhees will visit Dog Ears Bookstore & Café from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, to sign copies of her book The Sattler’s Diary. Dog Ears Bookstore is located at 688 Abbott Road in South Buffalo.

The Sattler’s Diary is the story of the Sattler family and their legendary store, lovingly known as 998! This book will give you a comforting good-hearted walk down to 998 Broadway. It includes an array of photographs and local history, as well as hundreds of memories and stories from the family, employees and customers of Sattler’s. This book will transport you back to the day when there were shoe and dress wars, weddings in the store window, celebrity visits, Christmas parades on Broadway, “Symphony 998,” Whiteouts for Victory, Lettuce Auction for Bataan, The Golden Girl, Teen Town and the Mighty Bargain Airlift! This book is a circus of fun with a sprinkling of local history. It will make your heart smile!
