The popular Elmwood Village Farmers Market, featuring nearly 40 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local produce and products, is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway in Buffalo’s historic Elmwood Village. A program of the Elmwood Village Association, the open-air market runs rain or shine through November.
Entertainment on June 9 will feature Brian & Peg from approximately 9:30 to 11 a.m. and La Marimba from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hosting the market’s community group tables will be the Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association, Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue, Lexington Co-op, and Friends of the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter.
HEAL Bflo offers a free weekly yoga class from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturdays. Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat and a bottle of water. Classes are offered on the west side of Elmwood Avenue, directly beyond the market.
Again this year, the market will act on its mission to provide increased access to fresh, healthy food by offering an EBT program. The market’s Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system allows individuals and families receiving public assistance to purchase products from eligible market vendors. Please visit the Elmwood Village Association tent for details.
