The popular Elmwood Village Farmers Market, featuring nearly 40 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local produce and products, continues on Saturday, Sept. 24. Hours at the open-air market, a program of the Elmwood Village Association, are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine, through November.
Field & Fork Network’s “Double Up Food Bucks” program has returned for its third season and will be available at the market through the end of October. The program provides low-income individuals who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits with a $1 for $1 match, up to $20, to purchase fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables. Please stop at the Elmwood Village Association tent during market hours for more information.
Providing musical entertainment on Sept. 24 will be David Adamczyk from 9:30 to 11 a.m., followed by Chris Jones from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hosting the market’s community group tables will be the Plein Air Painters, Berkshire Farm Center & Services for Youth, United Healthcare and the Lexington Cooperative Market. Wine-tasting will be provided by Victorianbourg Wine Estate.
