Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery in West Seneca will host the opening reception of its members’ exhibit, “Reflections,” from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 10. Guests are invited to stop by and meet the participating artists and enjoy the music of Dana Eric Misenheimer. The event is free and open to the public.
A Lighthouse Keeper Dinner Basket class with Maureen Quale will be offered from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 7 and 14, with participants creating a lovely dinner basket. The techniques learned in the creation of the basket are a woven base with wooden handle, triple twining, stop start weaving, applying a rim and double lashing. The handle is a wooden swing handle style. A variety of colors will also be available to customize your basket. The cost for this two-night class is $60.
Zentangle Seaside Tangles — A Tints on Tan class with artist Kelly Barone will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 9. Learn a more advance tangle technique bringing in the faintest tints of color to create a stunning piece of nature-inspired artwork! This project is complete with gorgeous tan Renaissance tiles, white ink, black and brown pens, as well as some prismacolor tints. Supplies are included, but you should bring your mini kit received at your first class. The cost is $40.
Cocktails & Canvas at the Roycroft Inn in East Aurora will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, and seven artists from Enjoy The Journey Art Gallery will be there exhibiting their artwork. Please join them for an evening of cocktails, live music, appetizers and art!
The annual Garden Art Saturday event takes place at Enjoy The Journey from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 18. Hand-painted pieces of funky artwork for your garden, patio or porch will be featured. This garden art sale will support the gallery’s Art Scholarship Fund to benefit a West Seneca high school student continuing their education in the visual arts. The gallery awards a $500 scholarship each year!
Zentangle 101 with Kelly Barone is scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 21. This class is for beginners, so if you are interested in the learning some of the designs of Zentangle, this class is for you! All supplies are included in the $35 class fee.
Wine, Women & Art with artist Andrea Oswald will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 23. Guests will decorate two wine glasses in a summer watermelon design while enjoying a glass of wine and some tasty goodies. All supplies are included in the $30 class fee.
Enjoy The Journey has also issued a call for artists for their upcoming “Mapping It Out” exhibit. All forms of media will be accepted, and artwork must include maps in the design.
