“Nature Meets Art,” featuring the work of local artists introducing you to their creative ideas on nature, is the latest exhibit to debut at Enjoy the Journey Art Gallery, 1168 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca. The exhibit, which includes over 30 artists with artwork in pastels, acrylics, watercolor, mixed media, clay, alcohol inks, fiber art and calligraphy, will run through April 1. An opening reception will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 10.
In April, Enjoy the Journey will showcase an exhibit titled “Beyond Imagination” with acrylic abstract artist C. Mari Pack and two of her students, Grace Wilding and Serena Way. They are each taking acrylics to new level with creativity, motion and color. Their exhibit’s opening reception is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 7. The exhibit runs from Tuesday, April 4 through Thursday, May 11.
A basket weaving class with Maureen Quale will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11. Participants will create a market basket to hold essentials or fill with goodies to make the perfect gift. The cost is $35.
On Saturday, April 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Enjoy the Journey will host a wet felting class with fiber artist Suzanne O’Brien. Wet felting is a process by which wool roving transforms into a non-woven textile (a felted bowl in this case). With simple materials and a little hard work guests will create a wool vessel made from hand-dyed Merino wool roving. The cost is $60 per person and includes all supplies.
Kelly Barone is back with a new twist to Zentangling with spirographs. Her class takes place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19. In this class you will incorporate your design with the use of spirographs and Zentangle patterns. The cost is $40.
Artist Jen Mutton will visit for an evening of art journaling from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26. Art journaling is discovering yourself through creativity and self-expression, and an art journal is a visual of your thoughts and ideas. The only rule when creating your journal is … there are no rules. It is a combination of art and words to express yourself (a diary of sorts). All you need to bring is a blank journal and an open mind. The cost is $30.
Enjoy the Journey has issued a call for artists for the June exhibit, “Collage, Digital and Mixed Media Mania.” Open to all artists, the gallery will accept work in collage, digital art, computer art and mixed media. The cost is $30 to enter up to three pieces of artwork. Drop-off dates will be May 26-27.
