Explore Buffalo announces Twilight Tour of Homes

May 31, 2016 | Events

Explore Buffalo’s 2016 Twilight Tour, taking place from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 16, is moving to a new neighborhood! The tour will meet at Buffalo Seminary, 205 Bidwell Parkway, Buffalo

Join Explore Buffalo and the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site for a relaxed go-at-your-own-pace walking tour that features interior access to historic homes in the Chapin and Lincoln Parkway neighborhood. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted as grand approaches to Delaware Park, these parkways are some of Buffalo’s most sought-after addresses. Built in the early half of the 1900s, the homes on these parkways display a wide variety of architectural styles, and all have compelling stories to tell.

Your souvenir guide booklet is your ticket and will direct you to participating homes where Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site and Explore Buffalo guides will await your visit and share details about the architecture and history of these unique homes as you admire the stunning interiors.

Tickets are $35 for advance general sales (up to June 11); $30 for advance sales to Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site members and Explore Buffalo season pass holders (up to June 11); $40 for all tickets the week of the tour (beginning June 12); and $75 for a VIP ticket package. VIP guests will enjoy an exclusive pre-tour experience with drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the historic Marcy Casino in Delaware Park.

Buffalo Seminary will be the tour headquarters. Guide books may be picked up at Buffalo Seminary beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16. VIP tickets will be at the VIP reception at the Marcy Casino. Guide book can also be picked up in advance at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site, 641 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, on the following dates:
• Monday, June 13, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, June 14, 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, June 15, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This event is presented by the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site and Explore Buffalo, and is a fundraiser that will benefit the programming of both nonprofit organizations. Hunt Real Estate, through their charitable foundation, is a proud sponsor of this year’s event.
