A long tradition will come to a close on Wednesday, April 19, when Bases Loaded Sports Collectibles and Bruce Brummitt Sportscards hold their final monthly sports card show from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Variety Club facility at 6114 Broadway in Lancaster. Previously, these monthly shows took place at the Leonard Post in Cheektowaga for several years.
“Business at our retail store has grown and I could no longer afford to close the store for a day while we prepared for and ran the monthly card show,” said Jeff Szczesek, owner of Bases Loaded Sport Collectibles located at 2350 Union Road, West Seneca. “We’ll miss the monthly show, but we have a lot more product at the store for collectors and sport enthusiasts.”
The final show on April 19 will feature a free giveaway for all in attendance, courtesy of Bases Loaded.
“I also want to thank the great people who run the Variety Club facility and those who previously ran the Leonard Post for being excellent hosts for so many years,” added Szczesek. “Both facilities helped us to grow our businesses.”
