Former WWE stars coming to Buffalo for wrestling event

Oct 24, 2023 | Sports Scene

Empire State Wrestling will return to Buffalo RiverWorks on Friday, Nov. 17 with WrestleBash XIII – ESW’s big, year-end event. WrestleBash XIII will feature Impact Wrestling star Heath (F.K.A WWE’s Heath Slater) and National Wrestling Alliance’s Chris Adonis (F.K.A. WWE’s Chris Masters).

Heath is known for his time in WWE as a member of The Nexus and 3MB, winning four tag team titles and the WWE 24/7 Championship on one occasion. In 2020, he signed with Impact Wrestling and held the Impact World Tag Team Championship with Rhino.

Adonis gained notoriety during his WWE stint through his Master Lock Challenge in which someone would attempt to break his version of the full nelson called “The Master Lock.” In 2021, he joined the NWA and is a former NWA National Champion.

The main event for WrestleBash XIII will see “The Remix” Kevin Bennett defend the ESW Heavyweight Championship against “Invincible” Vince Valor in a steel cage match. Valor earned the title opportunity after defeating “Big Time” Bill Collier in September in a match setup by Bennett himself. The last cage match to occur in ESW was at WrestleBash X in November 2019.

The Ilio DiPaolo Memorial Cup match will be held at WrestleBash XIII. This will be the DiPaolo Cup’s 10th anniversary since its conception. “The Holy Hand Grenade” James Sayga and “The Inspiration” Gregory Iron are already announced for the match. A new match participant will be revealed each Tuesday before WrestleBash XIII on ESW’s social media platforms.

Many of ESW’s regulars will be on the card including ESW Tag Team Champions High Seas, Collier, “His Royal Freshness” Frank Feathers, “Red Hot” Vinnie Moon, To Infinity & Beyond, Edge of Hope, “Rockstar” Robby Vegas, CXR and “The Good Looking God” Sebastian Braun. More matches will be announced through ESW’s social media platforms.
