If you are searching for fun activities for the summer, Mount Mercy Academy has the activities for you! This summer, Mount Mercy will be hosting a basketball camp, soccer camp, and Camp Mercy. All three activities are designed for girls interested in learning skills and having fun.
For the second year, Mount Mercy is offering a soccer camp for girls entering grades three through nine. The camp will be led by Mount Mercy’s soccer coach Maddie Higgins and members of the school’s championship soccer team. The camp will be held July 10-13. The first session for girls entering grades three, four or five will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the soccer field at Cazenovia Park. A second session for girls entering grades six through nine will be held from 12 to 2:30 p.m., also at the soccer field in Cazenovia Park. Sessions are limited, guaranteeing individual, personalized instruction. Individual improvement drills will be completed each day. Drills, station work, team concepts and scrimmages will be incorporated into camp time. The cost of the soccer camp is $80, which includes a T-shirt. The perennial favorite Camp Mercy will be held at the school from July 31 through Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Girls from third to eighth grade are welcome to attend Camp Mercy. The week will include activities like arts and crafts, games and sports. Each day is filled with adventure and creativity! Camp Mercy is a positive and empowering environment for girls to have fun, learn and make new friends. The cost of Camp Mercy is $175 and includes a bag, water bottle and T-shirt. This summer, Mount Mercy will host the 14th annual Mount Mercy Academy Basketball Camp from June 26- 29. The camp will be led by Mount Mercy Academy’s Varsity Basketball Coach Jeremy Rowe with assistance from Mount Mercy basketball team members. The camp is an instructional environment for girls entering grades four through nine. Sessions are limited, guaranteeing individual, personalized instruction. The camp offers instruction in ball handling, transition, shooting, rebounding, shot blocking and defense. Individual improvement drills will be done each day. Drills, station work, team concepts and scrimmages will all be part of each day. There are two sessions each day. Session one is for girls entering fourth through sixth grade and will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Session two is for girls entering seventh through ninth grade and will be held from noon until 2:30 p.m. The cost for either session is $80 which includes a basketball camp T-shirt. New to the summer fun lineup is a lacrosse camp for girls in grades three through nine. Sessions will be held from July 17-20 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Potter Road field in Cazenovia Park. The camp will be led by Mount Mercy faculty member and Williamsville South Lacrosse Coach Natalie Alvut, assisted by members of the Mount Mercy Lacrosse team.
