The Rural Outreach Center (ROC) is partnering with West Herr Auto Group to distribute more than 150 Thanksgiving turkeys and bags of sides, collected and donated by Revive Wesleyan Church of East Aurora, to rural families in need on Saturday, Nov. 23. This annual event ensures that families in The ROC’s rural service area – an area covering more than 60 zip codes and five counties – will have plenty of food on their table for Thanksgiving.

At the same time, The ROC and the Independent Health Foundation will be hosting Good for the Neighborhood at the Scott Bieler Family Foundation Rural Outreach Center building, located at 730 Olean Road in East Aurora. Good for the Neighborhood offers the public the opportunity to access flu shots, information from community organizations and vendors, and fresh food as part of the Healthy Options program.

By pairing the turkey distribution and Good for the Neighborhood, The ROC hopes to bring together our rural neighbors. All households who attend Good for the Neighborhood and visit each community vendor will receive a free turkey. Members of the public who are in need may call The ROC at (716) 240-2220, ext.101 for more information.
