Hearts for the Homeless announces their fourth annual Feed A Family initiative that will be assisting approximately 400 families with a Thanksgiving Day meal kit. This time of year, as families unite, the struggle to provide a meal for every cherished member can be overwhelming, now more than before. Hearts’ annual Feed A Family initiative aims to ease this burden, offering a traditional Thanksgiving Day feast, fostering unity and helping families feed their loved ones this Thanksgiving.
Hearts will accomplish this through their four pantry sites: Hearts Harvest Food Pantry in Riverside, Hearts Food Pantry Express at Christ United Methodist Church in the Cleve-Hill neighborhood, Hearts Food Pantry Express at Buffalo First Church of the Nazarene in Kenmore, and Hearts Food Pantry Express at Elim Life Church in Livingston County. Thanksgiving Day meal kits will be distributed in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving so families and individuals can properly prepare their meal.
Features and benefits of Hearts’ Feed A Family initiative include:
• Lessens the burden for families and individuals who cannot afford a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
• Meal kits include a frozen turkey, sides and a dessert.
• Fostering unity and preserving holiday traditions.
Hearts for the Homeless is excited to host a Feed A Family Collection Event in partnership with WDCX Radio at the Hearts Thrift Store in West Seneca on Friday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 5 p.m. Community members are invited to join in supporting local families by making a monetary donation of $40 to sponsor a complete holiday meal or by dropping off traditional Thanksgiving meal sides such as stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, etc. The event will take place at 3531 Seneca St., West Seneca, providing a hands-on opportunity to help ensure that families in need can enjoy a warm, festive holiday meal.
