For the second year in a row, Hollywood Studios are affiliating with Pumpkinville to celebrate a special anniversary. This year, Universal Pictures is partnering for the 75th anniversary of Curious George and its upcoming movie. It is only one of a handful of places across America selected by Universal.

Pumpkinville has included Curious George in the design of their six-acre corn maze. The official character will also be visiting Pumpkinville on Sept. 23-24 and Sept. 30 – Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Pumpkinville will offer Curious George-themed activities throughout their six-week season from Sept. 16 – Oct. 31. Curious George merchandise will also be available in the gift shop.

The Curious George character first appeared in book form in the early 1940s when the monkey is found in Africa by a man in a yellow hat who brings him to the big city to live with him. Adventures follow. The stories have been made for television and movies. The latest Curious George movie is in pre-production with Andrew Adamson directing and writing. Adamson is best known for directing Shrek and the first two Lion, Witch and The Wardrobe movies.

Pumpkinville is a 200-acre working pumpkin farm in Great Valley that features dozens of attractions for kids of all ages, including an authentic 1870s working cider mill. Pumpkinville may be best known for its variety of food, including its famous pumpkin donuts.

Last year the Charles Schulz organization partnered with Pumpkinville to celebrate the 50th anniversary of It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

A former winner of New York State’s Agri-Tourism Business of the Year, Pumpkinville is just minutes from Ellicottville at 4844 Sugartown Road in Great Valley.
