On Saturday, Sept. 21, the public will have the opportunity to meet and hear the compelling stories of some of the women who played a role in America’s struggle to preserve the Union, during the Hull Family Home & Farmstead’s all new Women of the Civil War Tour. These one-hour walking tours will go off every 30 minutes beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Some of these women will be familiar, while others are less well known – but all made an impact. Along the way, guests – who will be guided by trained volunteer docents – will be led through a series of scripted scenarios involving Clara Barton, Harriet Tubman, Mother Mary Ann Bickerdyke, Dr. Mary Walker, Mary Chestnut and others.
The cost is $12 per person. Space is limited; reservations are kindly requested. Good walking shoes are recommended. For more information or to book a tour, please call 741-7032.
