Kick off fall at Merritt Winery’s 43th annual Septemberfest

Merritt Estate Winery is a farm winery located in the rolling hills of Chautauqua County.

Merritt Estate Winery will host its highly anticipated 43rd annual Septemberfest on the winery grounds on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 12 to 10 p.m., and Sunday, Sept 7, from 12 to 6:30 p.m. The festival will take place at 2264 King Road, Forestville.

This family-friendly event offers free admission, free parking, and features live music all weekend long, along with 30 craft and artisan vendors. Attendees can enjoy wine, beer and their famous wine slush! Food options include Chiavetta’s chicken dinner, chicken Caesar wraps, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, fries, potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, fruit salad and delicious apple crisp.

The weekend will be filled with family fun, shopping, food, snacks and beverages. Activities include games, a bounce house for kids, artisan vendors and live music. This outdoor event will be held on the spacious open lawn, with seating and dining available in the large pavilion and patio. The event will take place rain or shine, so bring your camping chairs and prepare for a fun fall-themed weekend. Please note that outside food and beverages are not permitted.

On Saturday, doors open at 12 p.m. with various vendors selling home decor, beauty and wellness products, cooking products and personal accessories. Barnstorm kicks off the live music from 12 to 3 p.m., followed by Black Widow from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and concludes with Nerds Gone Wild from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Get your best 80’s and 90’s gear on and bring your nerd herd down to the festival. On Saturday, the best 80’s & 90’s nerds outfit wins a $100 gift certificate to Merritt Winery! Individuals or a group are all eligible to win!

On Sunday, the festivities continue starting at 12 p.m. and run throughout the day until 6:30 p.m., including music from The Knight Crew from 12 to 3 p.m., followed by awesome blues and the rockin’ sound of Rockabilly Steve & BR3 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Partnering with Chautauqua Area Habitat of Humanity, the festival will help to raise funds for the vital role this organization plays in the community with the help of the Singelyn Group. Each person that donates will receive a coupon for a free small fry at participating McDonald’s Restaurants.
