Local author Susan Potter publishes her second book

May 6, 2019 | Lifestyles

Susan Potter of Tonawanda has always loved to write. She jokes and tells others that she can write better than she can talk.

Susan’s dreams started to come true about 10 years ago when she opened her own tea shop on Tonawanda’s Main Street. She wanted to be an example for other women to step outside their comfort zone and live their dreams. From there she started writing stories about the folks that would come in. When she closed, she compiled it all into her first book, A Girl Like Me, Simply Sue.

Her second effort started out as story for her grandchildren, and before she knew it, it was a book! Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover is a book about bullying. It tells a story from both sides of the bully fence. It’s a story about Ruby, Hector and Ryan and choices they had to make in regards to bullying and being bullied. The book is geared towards older elementary and middle school students, but can be a good read for adults too. Both books are available on amazon.com.

Susan now works at an assisted living facility and enjoys all the stories the residents have to tell her. She doesn’t have another book in mind right now, but when the idea comes, you can bet she will be at her computer nonstop till it’s done.

Please mark your calendar and join Susan for her book-signing and presentation from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, in the Tonawanda Public Library, 333 Main St., in the City of Tonawanda. For more information, please email Ia*********@ao*.com.
