Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr. will present his “Senior Fraud Protection Program” at the Marilla Community Center to provide useful tips on how to identify and prevent common scams. The seminar will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 27 at the center, 1810 Two Rod Road, Marilla.
“Scammers have no limits. They will pry on anyone using any means necessary. It is extremely frustrating but I am committed to fighting with seniors to stop these lowlifes. By educating seniors and the entire community, we can help prevent victims from losing tens of thousands of dollars. Recognizing the growing problem with scams, I created the Senior Fraud Protection Program to help stop crimes before they occur. I talk to folks about what to look for in a scam and how to protect themselves in a world where scammers get more creative and have a greater reach using technology,” said Mychajliw.

With summer weather finally arriving, Comptroller Mychajliw will focus on contractor scams. Seniors will learn what steps to take before beginning any home improvement project.
