Horizon Martial Arts is proud to host the annual Stick It to Hunger benefit event on Saturday, July 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Horizon Martial Arts, 280 Center Road, West Seneca, located in the Wimbledon Plaza. This powerful community event brings together martial artists from across the region for a day of action, unity and giving — all to support the West Seneca Community Food Pantry.
The event will feature a high-energy spar-a-thon, including:
• Point-style Karate sparring
• Filipino stick fighting
• Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu sparring matches
• A free Judges’ Certification Course at noon, courtesy of MA Tour
In addition to the physical action, the event will include coaching and instruction from some of the most respected names in martial arts:
• Professor Gerry DiSanto (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu)
• Grandmaster Ron Cain
• Master Nick Cain
• Master Brian Arrington
These coaches represent martial arts schools from Batavia, Erie and Canada, coming together in a true cross-border collaboration to support those in need.
Leading the charge is Datu Tim Hartman, head of the World Modern Arnis Alliance, a multi-time world champion and proud West Seneca native. Datu Hartman is not only hosting the event but will also be coaching and working directly with participants.
“This is more than just a martial arts event,” said Hartman. “It’s about the community coming together and doing something bigger than ourselves. We’re using our skills, our passion and our platform to help feed families in need.”
Admission to the event is either a non-perishable food donation or $10 cash, with 100% of all proceeds going directly to the West Seneca Community Food Pantry.
