Mount Mercy Academy recently announced the recipients of the 2020 Academic Honors and Scholarships. Seven incoming members of Mount Mercy’s Class of 2024 were recognized for their outstanding academic performance. All of the scholarships are awarded to the top performers on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam.
Addison Barth of Hamburg, currently a student at Nativity of Our Lord School, earned the Mount Mercy Academy Alumnae Academic Scholarship which is a full four-year tuition that is awarded to the student who scores the highest on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam. She will follow in the footsteps of her mother, Noelle Dulak Barth, a 1996 graduate of Mount Mercy.
Caroline Tucker of Blasdell, also a student at Nativity of Our Lord, will receive the Mount Mercy Academy President’s Academic Scholarship. Tucker will receive a four-year half-tuition scholarship for earning the second highest score on the Catholic High School Entrance Exam. Like Barth, she will also attend the alma mater of her mother Mary Anne Tucker, a member of the class of 1986.
The Mount Mercy Academy Principal’s Academic Scholarship, a four-year $2,000 scholarship is granted to Nadine Barren, Vayana Stoyanova and Avery Walker. Barren is a Holland resident who attends Holland Middle School, while Stoyanova, a student at Notre Dame Academy, is a Gowanda resident and Walker is from Hamburg and attends Nativity of Our Lord School.
Shannon Kersten of Hamburg and Brogan Maloney of Lackawanna received the Catherine McAuley Academic Scholarship, a four-year $1,000 scholarship. Kersten is a student at Hamburg Middle School and Maloney, the daughter of alumna Mary Pat Overdorf Maloney, Class of 1996, attends Notre Dame Academy.
