Mount Mercy Academy inducts its McAuley Scholars

Mount Mercy Academy inducted 27 students as 2022-23 Mount Mercy Academy McAuley Scholars.

In a tradition that dates back to 2002, Mount Mercy Academy inducted 27 students as 2022-23 Mount Mercy Academy McAuley Scholars. McAuley Scholars are students who distinguish themselves through their academic rigor by maintaining an average of 95 percent or above throughout the school year and are taking two AP or dual credit/honors classes.

Students who are awarded with this honor exemplify a commitment to the Hallmarks of a Mercy Education, including Dedication to Christian Values, Academic Excellence, Leadership, and Commitment to Compassionate Service. McAuley Scholars pledge to live a life of integrity according to the spirit of Mother Catherine McAuley and to imitate her gentleness, her compassionate service, and her respect for the dignity of all people.

Eight sophomores, 10 juniors and nine seniors were inducted into McAuley Scholars this year.  

Inducted were sophomores Gabrielle Bauerlein (Orchard Park), Amelia Cook (Hamburg), Tylie Czerniak (Colden), Zoe Czerniak (Colden), Mia Freedenberg (Lakeview), Erin Hudson (Buffalo), Kendall Markiewicz (Buffalo) and Isabelle Reaska (West Seneca).  

Rosalie Bandura (West Seneca), Addison Barth (Hamburg), Maura Higgins (Buffalo), Emma Labby (Lakeview), Isabella Shea (Buffalo), Lacey Sheehan (Orchard Park), Vayana Stoyanova (Gowanda), Rylee Strefeler (Dunkirk), Caroline Tucker (Hamburg) and Avery Walker (Hamburg) were the juniors who were inducted.

Seniors Bridget Dougherty (Buffalo), Alexis Garmong (Buffalo), Elizabeth Godsoe (Buffalo), Catherine Klodzinski (Buffalo), Paige Lapadat (Orchard Park), Abigail Mailloux (Buffalo), Corsignana Nardello (Derby), Sophia Nasca (Eden)and Jillian Schneck (Buffalo) were also inducted into the 2022-23 edition of the McAuley Scholars.
