Mount Mercy Academy names Scholar Athletes

Two seniors from Mount Mercy Academy in Buffalo were recently honored as Western New York Scholar Athletes for the fall season. One athlete was one of the top 100 senior athletes and one athlete was an honorable mention selection. These two students were selected from all of the senior male and female athletes from both public and private schools throughout Western New York. To be nominated, the athlete must have achieved a 90-plus average for the previous six semesters and been a starter or significant player in their fall sport.

Senior Addison Barth (Hamburg) was honored as a Western New York Scholar Athlete for her athletic and academic achievements as a member of the school’s golf team. She was the co-medalist for the Monsignor Martin League, a First Team All-Catholic and qualified for the Catholic School State Tournament. She also competed in tennis, earning All-Catholic honors, and cross country this fall.

Senior Lacey Sheehan (Orchard Park) was an Honorable Mention pick for her academic and athletic achievements as a member of the volleyball team. She was named an Honorable Mention All-Catholic selection in volleyball. She also competed in golf and was an All-Catholic selection who will also compete in the state championships.
