Mount Mercy Academy recently held its First Semester Honors Assembly. Students were recognized for academic prowess and extracurricular activities.
Students who attained first or second honors received certificates noting their achievements. First honors are awarded to students who finish with an average 95 and above, while second honors are given to students whose averages are between 90 and 94.99. Eighty-seven students, including 30 freshmen, 15 sophomores, 16 juniors and 26 seniors all earned First Honors status. Thirty-nine students were awarded second honors. Thirteen freshmen, nine sophomores, five juniors and 12 seniors achieved this status.
Also recognized were students who participated in Mock Trial and Oratory and Debate.
Also, the Mount Mercy Guidance Department recently presented The Mother Frances Warde Award to the student in each grade whose average improved the most from first quarter to second quarter. Honored were freshman Isha Mganga, sophomore Athieng Dut, junior Aryel Adamczak and senior Caitlin Mann.
