The Mount Mercy Academy Fine Arts Department recently held its spring concert. The theme of the concert was “Stage and Screen” with songs performed from popular musicals, movies and series.
The Women’s Choir, the school’s dance classes and the Sparks, the school’s performance choir, all presented material. In addition, solos were sung by sophomore Erin Hudson (Buffalo) and Amelia Cook (Hamburg). An original song that was composed by the Artist Development class was sung by senior Kayla Pietrkiewicz (Buffalo). The vocal groups were conducted by Mount Mercy teacher and alumna Grace Greenan and the dance classes were coordinated by Mount Mercy teacher and alumna Justine Posiadlo.
Additionally, the Mount Mercy school community recently celebrated two of its most cherished traditional events, the Father-Daughter and Mother-Daughter events. The Father-Daughter was a picnic cookout with lawn games and the Mother-Daughter included mass at St. Thomas Aquinas and a brunch held at the school.
