Buffalo-based Heintz & Weber Co., Inc., makers of the top-selling mustard in Western New York, today introduced a new three-pack of assorted condiments including Weber’s famous Horseradish Mustard, Hot Texas Sandwich Sauce and Piccalilli Relish. A portion of the proceeds from each package sold will benefit Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, a nonprofit organization at the forefront of Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy research.
Featured on the unique product packaging is the story of Francis Desmond, the oldest child of Weber’s owners Steven and Suzanne Desmond, who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) as a child. Today, Francis uses art as an extension of his communication skills. Assisted by his father, who is also a professional photographer, Francis and Steven previously released the book “A Life With A Purpose” which has helped raised more than $8,500 for DMD research.
“As parents and business owners, it is important for us to support organizations that fight for children and young adults like Francis around the world,” said Suzanne Desmond, granddaughter of Heintz & Weber co-founder Joseph C. Weber.
“The new three-pack will begin appearing on the store shelves of local independent supermarkets in the coming days and weeks,” said Steven Desmond. “And beginning today, they are available at our corporate office and production facility, located at 150 Reading St. in South Buffalo, between South Park Avenue and Hopkins Street.”
The three-pack will carry an in-store retail price of approximately $9.99 to $10.49, depending on location. Packages purchased at Weber’s corporate office will be priced at $9.99.
“We hope the entire Western New York community will come together and support this great cause and give hope to families dealing with a muscular dystrophy diagnosis,” added Steven Desmond. “And with the holiday season right around the corner, we’re also hoping that other local businesses will join our effort and consider the new three-pack for their corporate gift-giving opportunities. Every dollar we can donate to DMD research will make a difference right here in our community!”
