O’Connell & Company presents a new Nunsense divinely inspired cabaret, Confessions of the Reverend Mother, on stage at Shea’s Smith Theatre Sept. 9-25.
Dan Goggin’s beloved Nunsense character, Mother Superior Sister Mary Regina, LSOH, is flying solo in this hilarious new show. Confessions of the Reverend Mother celebrates Mother Superior’s 50th Jubilee and takes place in real time as she is promoting her memoirs on a book tour. The book recounts her years as a nun and all the zany adventures of the Little Sisters of Hoboken, plus the Pope has asked Reverend Mother to do some postulant recruiting along the way.
Confessions of the Reverend Mother stars Mary Kate O’Connell as Reverend Mother Sister Mary Regina, and celebrates Mother Superior’s 50th Jubilee as she is promoting her memoirs on a book tour. This cabaret has all the hilarity and warmth of Dan Goggin’s Nunsense shows and is filled with your favorite songs and habit-forming wackiness.
This production features music and lyrics and the character of “Sister Mary Regina” by Dan Goggin, a book by Mary Kate O’Connell and Joey Bucheker, direction by Joey Bucheker, and musical direction by Nathanial Higgins. Confessions of the Reverend Mother is presented through a special arrangement with Dan Goggin.
