Plan a perfect long weekend staycation

Nov 28, 2022 | Lifestyles

There’s nothing quite like going on vacation, but not every holiday has to be a long one. Three-day weekends can feel just as luxurious if planned right.

Get the most out of your long weekend with a few expert tips and tricks:

1. Capitalize on the “staycation.” With gas prices sky high, it’s a great time to practice the art of the staycation. Take this opportunity to visit local places you may have never had a chance to see. Look online or ask friends and family for recommendations of great local gems around your city. Book a room at a hotel or Airbnb, sample new-to-you restaurants and get out to play tourist.

2. Have a rough schedule in mind. Once you land on a destination or staycation plan, do your research and determine what attractions, sites and bites you might want to work into your schedule. Take into account the distance between activities, parking options if you’re driving, and how walkable different locations are from one another. Planning things for a Thursday rather than Friday can save you loads of cash and hassle.

3. Pack smart. Whether you’re a tourist in your own town or you go farther afield, only bring what you need for your planned activities. For any type of exploration, the key is to keep smart footwear in mind. When our feet are not properly supported, it can be harder to stay on your feet all day. Try a pair of Dr. Scholl’s Tri-Comfort Insoles for the cushioning and support you need to be on-the-go from sun-up to sundown.
