The Buffalo Zoo is bringing back one of winter’s coolest traditions, Polar Bear Days, just in time for February break. From Feb. 16-20, guests can enjoy $5 off all admission tickets while celebrating one of the Zoo’s most iconic Arctic residents.
Polar Bear Days is a week-long celebration dedicated to highlighting polar bears and raising awareness about Arctic wildlife conservation. Throughout the week, visitors can experience daily keeper talks, fun animal enrichment sessions, and participate in family-friendly activities designed to educate and inspire.
Adding to the excitement, professional snow artist Eric Jones will create a live snow sculpture at the Zoo on Monday, Feb. 16. After its completion, the sculpture will be presented as enrichment to one of the Zoo’s tigers, offering guests a unique opportunity to watch natural behaviors as the tiger interacts with this chilly creation.
Additionally, Thursday, Feb. 19 will feature M&T Bank Third Thursday at the Buffalo
Zoo, providing free admission for all guests as part of the Zoo’s ongoing commitment to accessibility and community engagement.
“Winter is a wonderful time to visit the Zoo,” said Lisa Smith, President and CEO of the Buffalo Zoo. “Cold-weather animals like our polar bears and arctic foxes are especially active this time of year. Polar Bear Days gives families a fun and meaningful way to connect with wildlife while learning how we can all play a role in protecting Arctic species.”
The Buffalo Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last admission at 4 p.m. Discounted Polar Bear Days tickets are available online or at the gate. For a full schedule of daily activities, keeper talks or to purchase tickets, visit
