Pumpkin Pie Eating Challenge at The Great Pumpkin Farm this Saturday

Sep 24, 2026 | Events

The pie-eating excitement is just one part of a packed weekend at The Great Pumpkin Farm.

Think you can eat pumpkin pie with the best of them? The Great Pumpkin Farm is looking for hungry competitors to put their appetites to the test during a Local Amateur Pumpkin Pie Eating Championship this Saturday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m.

The stakes are high — and so is the slice count! The first-place winner will take home $250, plus there’s an additional $100 bonus for anyone who can beat local pie-eating champion Dave Werick’s record of 18 slices.

Contestants interested in taking on the challenge can sign up at the Activities Building at The Great Pumpkin Farm or call ahead to save a spot. Visitors are also encouraged to come out and cheer on the competitors as they see if anyone can take down the local champ’s record.

The pie-eating excitement is just one part of a packed weekend at The Great Pumpkin Farm. Sept. 26 & 27 is also Princesses in the Patch Weekend, with special princess appearances from 1 to 4 p.m. each day.

On Saturday, families can meet Cinderella and Moana, while Sunday will feature Elsa and Anna. Children are encouraged to dress up, bring their cameras, and enjoy magical meet-and-greets and photo opportunities among the pumpkins.

The Great Pumpkin Farm is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a full day of fall attractions and entertainment. Visitors can enjoy tractor hayrides, amusement rides, the Corn Maze, Boo Barn, petting zoo, giant jumping pillows, the BIG Oak Express Train, Pumpkin Barrel Train, pedal karts, Pumpkin Hill Slide, balloon art, cheek art face painting, contests and activities, gem mining, pumpkin and apple cannons, the Zombie Paintball Train, food vendors, pumpkin treats from the bakery, the Witches Brew Bar, Halloween Store, zillions of pumpkins and more.

Also appearing throughout the weekend is Nick Mambretti’s all-new “Burst of Wonder!” Magic Show, with performances at 12, 1:30, 3:30 and 5 p.m. each day. Guests can also enjoy live music all weekend at the Witches Brew.
