Rowers represent WNY at SRA National Championships

At the recent Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Championships, Canisius High School had three boats advance to finals. The Junior Varsity Men’s 4+ placed fifth, the Lightweight Men’s Varsity 4+ placed third, and the Men’s Lightweight Varsity 8+ placed sixth.

Light 8+: Zachary Porter, Max Battaglia, Alec Adams, James Oh, Kyle Flynn, Alessio Fatta, Jeffrey Mueller, Zach Mecca and Cox: Owen Witmann.

JV4+: Connor Long, Thomas Feeney, Connor Sullivan, William Ezquerro, and Cox: Sam Sullivan.

Lightweight V4+: Ryan Walter, Will Herzog, Charlie Korn, Nathaniel Sass and Cox: John Weckerle.

Buffalo Seminary’s Junior Varisity 4+ of Isabel Finkbeiner, Rae Griffin, Emma Hammel, Anya Casey and Jess Napier had good races but did not make it out of semifinals.

Grace Graney and Sabrina Lonas from the Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association’s U19 Women’s Team competed under their high school, City Honors, in the girls Junior Varsity Double (2x) placing fourth overall.
