SPCA waiving adoption fees for veterans and military families for Veterans Day

Nov 9, 2025 | Local News

Adoptions under the Vets & Pets promotion will take place exclusively at the SPCA’s West Seneca location.

The SPCA Serving Erie County is once again honoring the service and sacrifice of the United States Armed Forces through its annual Vets & Pets adoption promotion. This long-standing tradition offers waived adoption fees on most animals to past and present service members, as well as their immediate families.

From Nov. 8-15, adoption fees will be waived for individuals who are active duty, in the reserves, honorably discharged, retired from military service, or service-disabled veterans. This year’s Vets & Pets program is proudly presented by Moog, whose generosity continues to make this special event possible.

Adoptions under the Vets & Pets promotion will take place exclusively at the SPCA’s 300 Harlem Road location in West Seneca. Off-site adoption locations are not included.

Proof of military service is required at the time of adoption. Accepted identification includes military ID or DD214 documentation. If a service member is currently stationed outside of New York State, their spouse may adopt on their behalf with a valid military spouse ID card. Qualified adopters may apply the fee-waived promotion to a maximum of two animals.

The SPCA Serving Erie County is proud to continue this meaningful tradition, supporting both the veterans who have served our country and the animals who are waiting for families to call their own.
